Letter from the co-presidents of the 25th Assises de la cybersécurité

Dear community,

We are sending you this letter to share our vision of the 2025 theme of this year's Assises, which we are chairing: “FuturS, cybersecurity at the service of business and value creation”. This role honors us, and this theme challenges us!

“FuturS” reminds us of the raison d'être of our profession: to do cyber work, of course, but also to give it meaning.

“FuturS” gives us four directions, four paths that we'll be exploring this year with our Steering Committee, and with all of you during the week of Assises

Supporting business

In an increasingly digitized world, cybersecurity cannot stand alone: it must be integrated into the heart of the businesses and functions that create value for the company. Accompanying business means rethinking cybersecurity as a strategic tool, serving the concrete needs of business and support functions.

This is why a collaborative approach between cybersecurity teams and business players is so crucial. Listening to needs, understanding the specificities of each business, and anticipating the impact of cyber threats: this is the mindset that enables security to become a lever of confidence and performance.

For “Futurs”, it's not just a question of protection, but of supporting the evolution of businesses in the face of an ever-changing digital landscape. Cybersecurity aligned with business challenges means greater agility and sustainability in the face of risk.

Innovating every day

At full speed! Cyber threats are evolving at breakneck speed, and innovation everywhere, all the time, is essential to protect, support and strengthen our businesses. Innovating every day means meeting two imperatives: adapting to ever more creative threats, such as sophisticated fraud or risks linked to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, and deploying solutions that bring value to the business. The tools and technologies deployed must not only secure, but also facilitate and optimize business processes.

At “FuturS”, cybersecurity must be agile, proactive and aligned with business needs. This values an approach that combines anticipation, adaptation and collaboration to ensure that every cyber innovation strengthens business resilience and performance.

Being pragmatic

Cybersecurity can no longer be seen as a hindrance to business or a collection of rigid rules that impede projects. Being pragmatic means adopting a balanced, tailored approach, where corporate protection is based on a realistic assessment of risks and the state of the threat.

This emphasizes the need for the right level of security, aligned with the company's strategic and operational priorities. The aim is to offer concrete, relevant and integrated solutions that meet specific business needs, while reinforcing overall resilience. By abandoning a purely restrictive posture, cybersecurity becomes a trusted partner for business teams, avoiding bypasses that put the whole system at risk.

At FuturS, we need to ensure that every security measure brings value, in the right balance between protection and fluidity.

Bringing out talent

Together we go further... Cybersecurity in an organization is a subtle blend of technical and interpersonal skills; a blend that creates a close-knit, committed team, where everyone knows what they're doing, why, and with whom. Bringing talent to the fore means realizing that the strength of a cybersecurity organization lies above all in the men and women who make it up.

The talent shortage does not spare the cyber sector, and it reminds us of the importance of identifying and developing motivated profiles, regardless of their academic background or qualifications. It's a question of finding resources where they are to be found: in the field, among those who are ready to learn, take up challenges and actively contribute to the security of our businesses.

Bringing out talent also means facilitating the transition between generations, by encouraging experienced experts to pass on their knowledge and experience to new recruits. Passing on knowledge strengthens the skills of our teams, their ability to innovate and respond to new threats, and challenges us to keep pace with the evolution of our businesses!

At “FuturS”, talents join a collective, embrace a sector that will surprise them every day, and give meaning to their professional lives. These four directions will be at the heart of discussions at the 25th edition of the Assises de la cybersécurité. Join us in Monaco from October 8 to 11, 2025, to understand and bring to life these “FuturS”.

We look forward to seeing you there,

Odile Duthil and Loïs Samain
