Relive the highlights of the 2025 edition of Les Assises with replays and the photo album.

Dear Community,

We are sending you this letter to share our vision of the 2025 theme of this year's conference, which we are chairing: ‘FuturS, cybersecurity at the service of businesses and value creation’. We are honoured by this role, and we are challenged by this theme!

‘FuturS’ reminds us of the raison d'être of our profession: to do cyber work, of course, but also to give it meaning. ‘FuturS’ gives us four directions, four paths that we will explore this year with our Steering Committee, and with all of you during the week of the Assises:

Supporting business

In an increasingly digitised world, cybersecurity cannot stand alone: it must be integrated into the heart of the businesses and functions that create value for the company. Supporting business means rethinking cybersecurity as a strategic tool, serving the practical needs of business lines and support functions. This is why a collaborative approach between cybersecurity teams and business players is so crucial. Listening to needs, understanding the specificities of each business and anticipating the impact of cyber threats: this is the mindset that enables security to become a lever for confidence and performance.

At ‘FuturS’ , it's not just a question of protecting businesses, but of supporting them as they evolve in the face of an ever-changing digital landscape. Cybersecurity aligned with business challenges means greater agility and greater sustainability in the face of risk.

Innovating every day

At full speed! Cyber threats are evolving at breakneck speed, and innovation everywhere, all the time, is essential to protect, support and strengthen our businesses. Innovating every day means meeting two imperatives: adapting to ever more creative threats, such as sophisticated fraud or the risks associated with emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, and deploying solutions that bring value to the business. The tools and technologies put in place must not only provide security, but also facilitate and optimise business processes.

At ‘FuturS’, cybersecurity must be agile, proactive and aligned with business needs. This values an approach that combines anticipation, adaptation and collaboration to ensure that every cyber innovation strengthens the resilience and performance of the business.

Being pragmatic

Cybersecurity can no longer be seen as a hindrance to business or a collection of rigid rules that hamper projects. Being pragmatic means adopting a balanced and appropriate approach, in which the company's protection is based on a realistic assessment of the risks and the state of the threat.

This emphasises the need for the right level of security, aligned with the company's strategic and operational priorities. The aim is to propose concrete, relevant and integrated solutions that meet the specific needs of the business while strengthening overall resilience. By abandoning a purely restrictive stance, cybersecurity becomes a trusted partner for business teams, avoiding bypasses that put the whole system at risk.

At ‘FuturS’, we need to ensure that every security measure adds value, with the right balance between protection and fluidity.

Bringing out the best in people

Cybersecurity in an organisation is a subtle blend of technical skills and interpersonal skills; a blend that creates a close-knit, committed team, where everyone knows what they are doing, why, and with whom.

Bringing out talent means being aware that the strength of a cybersecurity system lies above all in the men and women who make it up. The shortage of talent does not spare the cyber industry, and it reminds us of the importance of identifying and developing motivated profiles, regardless of their academic background or qualifications. We need to look for resources where they are to be found: in the field, among those who are ready to learn, to take up challenges and to make an active contribution to the security of our businesses. Bringing out talent also means facilitating the transition between generations, by encouraging experienced experts to pass on their knowledge and experience to new recruits. Passing on knowledge strengthens the skills of our teams, their ability to innovate and respond to new threats, and challenges us as our businesses evolve!

At ‘FuturS’, talented people join a collective, embrace a sector that will surprise them every day, and give meaning to their professional lives.

These four directions will be at the heart of discussions at the 25th Assises de la cybersécurité. Join us in Monaco from 8 to 11 October 2025, to understand and bring to life these ‘FuturS’.

We look forward to seeing you there,

Odile Duthil et Loïs Samain
The co-presidents of the 25th of Les Assises de la cybersécurité

A plea for recognition of ethical hackers, an imperative in the public interest

Friday, October 10 | 4:00-4:45 pm

Lacking the means to protect themselves effectively, many essential structures are both exposed and vulnerable, such as NGOs, associations, local authorities, public interest groups, etc. Although ethical hackers work alongside them on a voluntary basis to strengthen their security posture, these initiatives are still too little recognized. Yet they embody a concrete form of solidarity-based cybersecurity, geared towards action and the common good. This round table will examine the role of ethical hacking as a concrete lever for cybersolidarity. How can we fully recognize its strategic and societal contribution? How can we make it a lasting part of the cyber ecosystem, alongside institutions and businesses? Through the shared experiences of an independent hacker and the Hack4Values association, which coordinates solidarity bug bounty programs, the session will make a clear plea for public policies and cyber strategies to evolve to include this civic commitment. This debate is also aimed at CISOs and institutional players, who are called upon to play an active role in this dynamic, by supporting these initiatives via CSR, by building trusted partnerships, or by initiating concrete actions within their organizations. This round-table discussion opens the way for collective reflection on a more inclusive cybersecurity approach, truly focused on the public interest.
